Local Artist Creates Ashford Mural To Mark Debut Album

Tenterden-based artist Mr Doodle has designed a mural for Ashford, Kent, described as “one of the world’s longest illustrations.”


The internationally acclaimed artist, also known as Sam Cox, created the 203-metre mural in just one day on Friday, December 6th.

Thousands across Kent came together to celebrate Ashford’s first LGBTQ+ pride weekend.


Organisers Samantha Griffin, 48, Radio Ashford Presenter, and Heather Hayward, 46, Cabinet Member for Performance and Direction at Ashford Borough Council, promised the event would be one “the Ashford community owns,” showcasing what the town has to offer and providing a “safe and inclusive environment” for local LGBTQ+ individuals.

County Square Shopping Centre Issues Stab-Proof Vests To Cleaners

Cleaners at an Ashford shopping centre have been issued with stab-proof vests after an “unprecedented” rise in attacks on retail staff.


Following a “well-received” trial of the stab-proof vests on County Square security guards last year, “the entire front-of-house team” has now been equipped with the protective body armour.
